Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend now features a half marathon!

At TCM, we know the power of movement for individuals, and for community. It connects, heals, and energizes us. In order to share this power with others, we're piloting a charity-driven experience this year in hopes that we can drive our mission forward and deepen our impact on the community.

The inaugural TC Half Marathon For More will let 200 runners run the final 13.1 miles of the marathon course while they support others to feel the power of motion. All funds raised through the TC Half Marathon for More will support TC Kids Run Free and Twin Cities In Motion’s other mission initiatives.

Reasons to Run with Us

Watercolor light blue

"The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend has a long-standing tradition of raising money for fellow charities. To grow this impact, we needed to find how we could help move for even more. The inaugural TC Half Marathon For More will serve as a test to see if we can create and grow a significant new opportunity. If successful in its first year supporting TCM’s nonprofit mission, we will be able to invite other charities to fundraise through the most popular distance in running."

TCM is committed to making the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend a memorable and meaningful participant and community experience for years to come.

A Strong Marathon Weekend Tradition

Our best-in-class events and inclusive programs are where we gather to learn, motivate, and strengthen our connection through movement.

A Vibrant Running Community

We believe that experience-level, access, ability, or financial status shouldn’t be barriers to a movement journey. We support all movers because we believe that motion leads to more.

Healthy Activities for All

In 2023, TCM moved into the Motion Center with the goal of expanding our programming and connecting with runners and walkers of all experience levels in the community.

FAQs

General FAQs

When did registration take place?

  • TCM Members began registering on Tuesday, March 12th. The general public began registering on Tuesday, April 2nd. There are only 200 spots in the event, and as of July, 2024, this event is sold out.

If I can no longer run, can I transfer my entry or defer to next year?

  • Person-to-person transfers are not permitted for the TC Half Marathon for More. Runners wishing to switch race distances must do so by Monday, August 19, at 11:59 p.m. CDT. Fees are involved. Please email [email protected] to transfer distances. Donation participants will not receive a refund of their $365 donation and fundraising participants will still be required to fundraise their $365 minimum. Refunds on entry fees are not permitted after our 48 hour cancellation request policy. TCM does not have a deferral program at this time.

Can Kids Run Free in the TC Half Marathon For More?

  • Unfortunately, as this is a fundraising event, the Kids Run Free program does not apply to the TC Half Marathon for More. Anyone 18 years old or younger can still register but will be required to pay the entry fee as well as donate or fundraise $365. Lucky enough, the funds raised will benefit them in other TCM events they participate in!
