Hayley's Tips to Get Your 2025 in Gear

Happy New Year from TCM! We're asking our Motion Experts for three quick tips to help runners get their 2025 in gear.

Here are sport psychologist Hayley Russell's tips:

Celebrate Your Wins from Last Year whether last year was a great running year or not so much, there’s always something to celebrate (even if it’s taking a break when you needed one or continuing to train even when it was really hard). Take a moment to feel good about what you accomplished last year!

Set Goals Based on Where You are Now – Then, determine what you need to do (e.g., strength training, consistency, rest, etc.) to get to where you want to be!

Reflect on Why You Run – Make sure to prioritize the parts of running you love going into the next running season!

Why not get in gear for Get in Gear in 2025? Minnesota's Annual Rite of Spring features a 5K, 10K and the Medtronic Half Marathon running from the cathedral to Minnehaha Park.
